Genziko Inc. is pleased to announce that we received an Ignite! grant from Rocket Ventures www.rocketventures.org/, Northwest Ohio’s premier venture capital fund, on 8 October 2008.
The purpose of the Ignite! program is to provide very early-stage emerging technology companies and innovative manufacturers in high-growth industries a chance to grow and nurture their technology, allowing them to compete more effectively within the marketplace.
Rocket Ventures has a specialized review process with strict parameters that companies must meet and every Ignite! grant is reviewed and approved by the Rocket Ventures board of managers. Genziko has used this grant to purchase customized equipment for the development of conventional and nano-piezoelectric materials and products, allowing us the capability to produce sub-scale product to our interested customers and to propose governmental and industrial product development programs.
“Genziko has the kind of cutting edge technology that is an important part of a diversified economy,” said Greg Knudson, director of Rocket Ventures.
“It is critical for Northwest Ohio to have more hightech businesses, along with traditional manufacturing and other industries, to provide a full range of job opportunities for workers throughout our region. Early-stage companies such as Genziko are expanding quickly and creating the types of specialized jobs that are increasingly in demand around the world,” he continued.
Rocket Ventures was able to attract Genziko to Toledo through combined efforts with the Ohio Department of Development and the Third Frontier Program, who recognized that Genziko has the potential to generate over 300 high-paying jobs to the region.
“Because of state funding, Ohio’s foothold in new technologies has grown exponentially, as its awards have led to new technologies, new products and new and existing business growth and Genziko is a stellar example of the kind of company that Rocket Ventures as a state funded program wants to lend its support to,” said David Miller, Rocket Ventures business development manager. “As Genziko continues to demonstrate the advanced properties of their new devices, Rocket Ventures will seriously consider investing the equity necessary for fully commercializing this exciting technology,” Miller has added. |
